Notes from the Editor

I've got so many people to thank for this edition of BP that I wouldn't have enough room here & would probably miss someone out....so l'll just say THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED THIS TIME!.
You will notice however that Ray Shill and his next installment of 'BCN Branches and Byeways' is missing. He has been busy but promises to be back with us next edition, as will Francis Stapleton.

The Photo Quiz was the best yet! Thanks Bob. I hadso many replies... let's see how you get on the this one, not so esay. I had no idea where it was.

The August walk led by Ray Shill was another very successful experience, we all learnt such a lot. We',, keep you informed of how this area develops.(Icknield Port and Edgbaston Reservoir)

We have two interesting boaters experiences this time, one from many years ago and one more recent, both so well ritten that I could imagine being there myself. The write uo by Nick Yarwood refers to a steel Sewwart & Lloyd's boat 107 and while on my way back from the IWA Festival I came across a working boat selling coal & diesal called 'Gosty Hill'. It had started it's life as a Stewart & Lloyd's open steel boat number 103 and has had a cabin fitted, bottom replated and is in full use as a home & work boat. We may see him at the S&L event at Coobeswood next year... if he can get through the tunnel that bears his name as his back cabin looked quite high.

I look forward to hearing from some of you for inclusion in your next edition. You are certainly making this journal worth reading! Thanks again

Brenda
