Notes from the Editor

There were so many items to cram into Boundary Post this time that I'm sure to have left something out! Just as I completed this edition I heard of plans being submitted for four dwellings inside Titford Gauging Station. The building is grade 2 listed so there are restrictions to be followed. I will report on the outcome next time. Langley Maltings, also grade 2 is still for sale with the latest news that it is in the hands of auctioners with a price guide of £1.5m.

On the subject of listings we are frequently asked "Is it listed?" when referring to a canal structure, so I thought I would include these details in this and future editions. (See this list in news section off home page)

I agree with Phil in his report that we had a really good social meeting with Graham Fisher speaking to us. It was March 1st, St David's Day and it has always been my tradition, being Welsh, tp bring Welsh Cakes and Daffodils to where ever I am - this being no exceptio!

I refer to the photo of the isolated building where the Science Museum once stood. I found it fascinating to follow the route behind it to discover much evidence of the arm that went though the site and beyond, under two streets to finish at a sandstone cliff face! More research needed here.

Thank you for your continued support and especially for reading this journal!. I look forward to hearing from you about any relevant item no matter how small. I just love to hear from diierent contributors with information or experiences, as we have in this edition.
