Notes from the Editor

I have been thrilled with the response from long standing members of the BCNS for inclusion in this edition. As we celebrate our 40 years it's a treat to read the report from John Philips relating his memories of the forming of the Society. I was charmed by the piece of prose entitled Tunnel Vision from Gordon Thompson, a former BP editor. Martin's Two Georges finishes this time but I'm sure he'll come up with another title just as interesting before long. I feel so privileged to be able to receive and print such superb pieces of work from Ray, Martin, Phil and Bob together with all the extremely relevant items that keep coming in from far and wide.
Talking of "far", John Fellows (letter on page 29) now lives in Australia but for many years in the 1980's he was an active member of BCNS work parties. The weight plate that he refers to is just like the one in the Pump House but we're not sure if it's the one John "saved". He promises to send more details of his past activities.
As the BCNS Celebrates it's 40 years as a Society, on 25th July to be precise Council would like to make it a year to remember and with the DCI 150 Celebrations and IWA Festival at Autherley Junction I expect it will. We will be actively involved in ALL of these events and would love some help! Whether you are able to give a whole hour or a whole day get in touch with Barrie or Simon for the sales stand.
Don't forget if you have any interesting snippets from the past now is the time to get the written word sent to Boundary Post. We'll make it a 40th year of memories! It's one thing putting all this together but without the contributors it would be nothing.
