Notes from the Editor
What a joy to be able to include youth in our ever aging Society. Both the clean up and Atlas and Malus seem to be attracting younger members. That is certainly a good thing.
Boundary Post seems to be developing series. We have had Ray Shill's extensively researched articles as are Phil's Junctions. Lost BCN cottages will continue so long as I receive relevant information. The "Brick in the Wall" has been missed out this time through lack of room but you can be sure it will be back in the autumn. Ivor Caplan has produced a couple of interesting articles featuring modern architecture that fits in well with the heritage of the canals.
Malcolm Braine's "one off" about his restored spoon dredger will undoubtedly interest all the BCNS members who knew the boat in it's original state some years ago when Malcolm offered to lend it to the Society.
Another item that I hope is not a "one off" is Peter Lee's monologue. Of course the letters continue to come in with diverse and interesting subjects. I must thank Peter Freakley for sending in his memories of an early BCN Society. All this contributors are making Boundary Post very enjoyable for me to edit - thanks to all of you!
We have just got back from the finish of the BCN Challenge at Walsall. The feeling of satisfaction and enjoyment were to be found with all the returning crews. We hope to see them all next year with even more to double the numbers! What a successful event. Well done Roy & Graham for such organisation.
